Dodgers Win Game 1 Of World Series Over Astros 3-1

The Los Angeles Dodgers won Game 1 of the World Series 3-1 over the Houston Astros last night (October 24th) at home in L.A. Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw, a three-time Cy Young Award winner, struck out 11, gave up just three hits, and walked none over seven innings before Brandon Morrow and Kenley Jansenclosed out the game. He gave up the Astros’ lone run on a homer by Alex Bregman in the fourth inning that tied the game at 1-1, after Chris Taylor got the Dodgers on the board with a home run on the first pitch of the game by Houston starter Dallas Keuchel. The winning runs for the Dodgers came on a two-run homer in the sixth inning by Justin Turner. The Series kickoff was played in sweltering temperatures, with it 103 degrees at game time in what’s likely a record for the World Series. Game 2 will be played tonight (October 25th) in L.A

Colin Kaepernick Signs A Book Deal

Colin Kaepernick has signed a book deal worth just over $1 million with Random House imprint One World, Page Six reported yesterday (October 24th). The deal comes after the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback recently filed a grievance against the NFL alleging that he remains unsigned due to collusion by the owners following his “take-a-knee” protests during the national anthem last season against racial inequality and police brutality. The protests have been continued by some players this season and drew the ire of President Trump, who said players who don’t stand during the anthem should be fired.
