Living Single Reboot

“By: SportsGuyMike – The Morning Boom Box”

On January 14th Queen Latifah joined, Watch What Happens LIVE with Andy Cohen, and reveled that she’s planning on a reboot of the popular 1993 series, Living Single. It’s not like the Queen would be the first to do this. It seems to be more and more common place in Hollywood to do remakes of previous television series and movies.

During the show, a caller asked the Hip-Hop legend if she is planning a reboot of her hit ’90s show. “Funny you should ask – we’re actually working on it,” said Latifah. “It’s not there yet, but hopefully we can get it happening.”

Queen Latifah added that the original cast – Kim Coles, T.C. Carson, Erika Alexander, John Henton and Kim Fields – would return to reprise their roles. Which in my opinion is huge. They’ll be older, and wiser but that’s what will get eyeballs on the project in my opinion. It’s unclear whether or not the reboot would debut on network television or on a streaming channel like Netflix. “It depends, we’re still figuring that all out,” said Latifah.

Whether it comes to network television or a platform like Netflix, I will definately be tuned in. I was a big fan of, Khadijah, Synclaire, Max, Kyle, Obie, and of course Regine. The show was on the air for five seasons on Fox from August 1993 to January 1998. In its final year, the series had two Image Awards wins, including Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series for Erika Alexander.
