Broncos Take On Chiefs Monday Night

By: SportsGuyMike – Contributing Editor

The Broncos have a rough time of it as of late, and it’s not going to get any easier on Monday on the big stage. This Monday night the Broncos take on the 5-2 division leader Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

Since beating the Cowboys 42-17 in Week 2, the Broncos have averaged an NFL worst 10.5 PPG in their last four games. Denver has a 2.2 offensive efficiency (0-100 scale) in its shutout loss to the Chargers, the team’s worst since Week 10 of 2015 against the Chiefs (1.6). These numbers are mind blowing in comparison to what they’ve been over the past 4 years.

Broncos Head Coach Vance Joseph and his coaching staff seem to think practices are going well, but it’s getting lost in translation when it comes to game time.

“We have to revamp how we’re teaching these players and get more positive play out of some guys,” Joseph said. “ … Less meetings, maybe more walk-throughs … It’s not happening on game day … we have too many mistakes.”

Needless to say, Coach Joseph is not happy with anyone’s performance, including his own.

“In all three losses, it all looks the same: We’ve got busted assignments and turnovers, and we can’t overcome it,” Joseph said. “ … We have to coach better. We have to play better, all of us.”

Here’s Coach Vance Joseph’s Monday press conference courtesy of Broncos TV:

Bottom line is, the Denver Broncos are not playing well on either side of the ball. They have the talent and we’ve all seen it. However, in my opinion, the biggest issue looks to be focus. Oh yeah, and the fact that Trevor and that offense don’t seem to be on the same page.

This is a divisional match-up that usually doesn’t disappoint. Hopefully this Monday night isn’t any different. Best of luck Orange & Blue, you’re gonna need it.
